Trail Description
This trail in Rocky Mountain National Park rises steadily right out of the parking lot for about the first mile, climbing up the Copeland Moraine. Hiking mostly in trees, there are some great vantage spots of the North St Vrain valley before heading up to a crossing for Campers Cr, and then Hunters Cr. The trail then climbs for another mile before reaching the lake. Take in views of various peaks from around the eastern shoreline. How to Get There
Drive south of Estes Park on Hwy 7 13.5 miles, toward the town of Allenspark. Turn right at the Wild Basin Ranger Station sign. The trailhead is just past the entrance gate on the right. |
