Trail Description
There can be no more dramatic view in Rocky Mountain National Park than of Longs Peak's East Face "Diamond Wall" towering over this heavily glaciated lake. Begin the hike on the Longs Peak trail for about 3 miles, then take the cutoff trail to the lake. Follow the rock cairns up on the final stretch of the trail. This is a high elevation trail, mostly above tree line and is often covered in snow during the early summer. How to Get There:
From Estes Park, travel south on St Hwy 7 for 9.5 miles to the Longs Peak Campground and Trailhead. |
