Rocky Mountain Day Hikes
One of the joys of hiking the trails of Rocky Mountain National Park is marveling at the natural alpine gardens and the many wildflowers that occur in abundance. Being able to know a wildflower by its' name adds to the appreciation. The most obvious way of identifying the name of a wildflower is by it's color, but you can narrow your search by selecting the life zone where you found the wildflower growing and then looking it up by color. There are approximately 290 different wildflowers that occur in Rocky Mountain National Park, and right now about half of them are shown here, with more to be added soon.
