Trail Description
This hike is a continuation of the Copeland Falls and Calypso Cascades hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park. Beyond the Cascades, the trail travels through a small section of the Ouzel Lake Fire of 1978. It is interesting to see the amount of regrowth that has occurred since that time. The trail climbs before passing by the dramatic Ouzel Falls. Ouzel refers to the little dipper bird by that name, often feeding along the Wild Basin streams. How to Get There Drive south of Estes Park on Hwy 7 13.5 miles, toward the town of Allenspark. Turn right at the Wild Basin Ranger Station sign and follow the dirt road for 2 miles to the trailhead at the end. |
