Trail Description
Travel through three diverse, high altitude ecosystems on this hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. Beginning at Milner Pass, the trail rises through the forested upper Montane Zone and crosses along the tree-sculptured Subalpine Zone before breaking onto the open tundra of the Alpine with numerous alpine ponds to enjoy. Hiking another 2 miles brings you to the Alpine Visitor Center on Trail Ridge Road. How to Get There
From Estes Park, drive over Trail Ridge Road, past the Alpine Visitor Center, to Milner Pass on the Continental Divide. Trail Ridge Road is only open from June to about mid-October. |
