Trail Description
This trail has experienced significant fire damage from the 2020 East Troublesome Fire. This hike does not have much elevation gain and it is a pleasant trail through the forest in Rocky Mountain National Park. The trail begins as a rutted road to Summerland Park before turning into a wide foot path, but the end becomes a narrow path skirting along a steep hillside before the falls. The falls do begin as a cascade over rocks at the top and there are many rocky spots to enjoy the mid-day sun. How to Get There From downtown Grand Lake, go north on Garfield St. and then turn right onto West Portal Rd. Go only 0.1 miles and turn left. It's then 0.3 miles to the trailhead. |
