Trail Description
Follow the Lawn Lake trail in Rocky Mountain National Park as it quickly rises above Horseshoe Park and look for the trail cutoff at 1.5 miles. The hike travels a long way through lodgepole pines with the small Chipmonk Lake providing a welcoming break. Not long after, the trail drops in elevation somewhat to the SW shore of Ypsilon Lake. Circle around to the eastern edge for views of Mt. Chiquita. How to Get There
From downtown Estes Park, travel west on US 34, entering into The National Park, for about 6.8 miles. Turn right onto Old Fall River Road for about one tenth of a mile to the Lawn Lake Trailhead. |
