Trail Description
Plan on a steady, up-hill hike through the forested Montane Zone before reaching the upper meadows in the Subalpine Zone. These upper meadows and streams are very pretty and there are lots of open areas around the lake to enjoy the wonderful scenery. The two prominent peaks surrounding the area are Jackstraw Mtn to the west and Mt Ida to the east. How to Get There
From Estes Park, drive up and over Trail Ridge Road. Continue past the Alpine Visitor Center and Milner Pass. The Timber Lake Trailhead sign is on the left at the bottom of the series of switchbacks. |
