Trail Description
Begin this loop hike in Rocky Mountain National Park by following the Emerald Lake trail from the Bear Lake parking lot. Just before reaching Dream Lake, follow the trail sign to Lake Haiyaha. This trail rises to a switchback and around a ridge with terrific views of Glacier Gorge and Longs Peak. Watch for the trail junction that leads down to the Glacier Gorge trail. Continue on to Lake Haiyaha before returning to this trail and hiking down about 1 mile to the much more traveled Glacier Gorge trail. From here, head eastward towards Alberta Falls, then watch for a final trail juncture and signs for the short uphill path back to the Bear Lake parking area.

How to Get There
Take the Bear Lake Road from US 36 to the Bear Lake trailhead, 9.7 miles. Parking during the summer season is very limited. It's best to utilize the Hiker Shuttle from the Estes Park Visitor Center and the Park Shuttle Buses.
