Trail Description
A long hike that follows a number of different trails to complete the loop. There's a multitude of trail junctions in the Sprague Lake area, follow the ones that lead to the long trail through montane forest to Storm Pass, and the side-trail to the Estes Cone. From here, the trail descends through Moore Park and then connects with the Longs Peak trail. Head west on this trial which begins the long ascent into the Alpine Zone, past the Chasm Lake trial, and on to Granite Pass. Granite Pass marks the highest point on the loop and from here, the trail begins its' descent back to Sprague Lake. How to Get There
Take the Bear Lake Road from US 36 5.9 miles to the sign for Sprague Lake. Parking during the summer season is very limited. It's best to utilize the Hiker Shuttle from the Estes Park Visitor Center and the Park Shuttle Buses. |
