Trail Description
This classic triple summit tundra hike ascends quickly to reach the alpine. The trails ascending these peaks are not maintained by the National Park and it is important to stay on the existing paths and follow the rock cairns. While it is a grind to get up each of these peaks, the views are astounding all day long, culminating on the sheer drop off of Ypsilon Peak overlooking Spectacle Lakes. As with all hikes above treeline, start early and watch the weather.
How to Get There

The Chapin Pass trailhead can only be accessed by car after the one-way Old Fall River Road is open, usually in July. From Estes Park, travel west on US 34, entering into the National Park at the Fall River Entrance. Drive 2.1 miles then turn right onto Endo Valley Rd. Continue up the Old Fall River road 7.5 miles to the trailhead. This is a one-way up dirt road and parking at the trailhead is limited.
